9/11 Commission Findings
The biggest indictment against the government by the 9/11 commission was “lack of imagination.” The terrorist imagination was far superior to ours. President Bush said it succinctly when he mournfully claimed, “I would have done anything in my power if I had imagined that they would use our planes to fly into our buildings.” Why couldn’t anyone in this great nation with the power to do something, imagine the realities of these events? Why do we have this “imagination gap?” Why aren’t there more entrepreneurs in government? How do we get the imagination edge back? Are these kinds of questions important?
